Meet the Dexters
Dexter Music founders Paul and Kim Dexter are 30-year music industry veterans with more than 25 years of teaching experience. As touring recording artists in the nineties, the Dexters gained first-hand knowledge of performance techniques, the ins-and-outs of the industry, and the artistic balance between creativity and commercial success that only professional musicians truly understand.
Their career has spanned writing and producing songs for other artists, composing music for animated television and video series, and producing an award-winning children’s music/video project. Paul has also earned Grammy and Dove Award nominations for his work producing and engineering various pop artists.
With such depth of experience, the Dexters bring a full-spectrum approach to teaching students how to learn, write, and perform music with confidence and creativity.
To ensure the highest standards, Paul and Kim hand-select music teachers who share their passion, professionalism, and personable approach to teaching. Every lesson plan is custom-tailored — whether a student is a beginner playing for fun or pursuing professional aspirations.
And because we know families are busy, Dexter Music specializes in in-home lessons, giving students the convenience of learning in the comfort of their own homes while providing parents with a much-needed break from driving and waiting.
Our students also have opportunities to grow through bi-annual recitals, where they can showcase their progress and gain valuable performance experience.
Having served families in Southern California for years, we are now excited to bring the Dexter Music difference to Nashville — offering the same trusted in-home music lessons to families in Belmont, Green Hills, 12 South, and beyond.
